Getting There
Location
Set in the tranquil eastern bank near the entrance to
the Inlay Lake, The "Inle Resort & Spa" is a 20 minutes
interesting boat ride from the staging town of Nyaung
Shwe. Conveniently located to the many sights and
services on the Lake to make your vacation complete yet
tucked in a quiet and serene corner, away from the
bustle of the Lake centre, from its vantage location,
our guests will have the unparalleled experience of
enjoying the vistas of both sunrise and sunset.
Inlay Lake, the jewel of Shan State, is located about
30 km to the south of Taunggyi. Cradled by the majestic
Shan mountain range and sheltered by clear blue skies
above, the beautiful and picturesque Lake, rising 870
meters above sea level and stretching 22.4 km long and
10.2 km wide, is a perfect harmony of air, water and
life in a unique eco-system. Inlay Lake, as a tourist
destination, is unique in more ways than one: from
one-leg rowers, floating villages, colorful floating
markets to the natural hot springs. Visit the cottage
industry of silk weaving at Innpaw-Khon village where
you can buy silk pieces still woven painstakingly by
hand looms. Make a point to time your visit during the
annual festival of the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda in October
when, with traditional pomp and pageantry, the boat
races on the Lake by the unique Inlay one-leg rowers
will sure to enthrall all visitors.
From the Heho Airport: Only an hour’s
drive from the Heho Airport to the resort by land
transport. Alternatively, an half hour’s drive will
bring you to the lakeside town of Nyaung Shwe where you
can transfer onto a boat for a 20 minutes leisurely ride
to the resort.
